I Admit: I’m Obsessed with Liquid Chlorophyll- The Benefits During Pregnancy

Listen! I could not NOT share my love for this product because it’s been a game changer for me since Day 1.

Now, I’ve been hearing about liquid chlorophyll here and there on social media and usually have only taken it in capsule form… so hearing some folks rave about the liquid form caught my attention. I was thinking to myself, “Well, what’s the difference? What am I missing out on here?”

What are the benefits of chlorophyll?

Liquid chlorophyll is a green pigment found in plants that is a powerful antioxidant that can:

  • protect cells from damage
  • increase oxygen levels in the blood
  • reduce inflammation

Chlorophyll also has detoxifying properties which may be beneficial to combat exposure to everyday environmental toxins. This is where I find most consumers find chlorophyll benefits to be a must-have because it really has been proven to:

  • reduce body odor
  • eliminate bad breath (especially in the morning)
  • improve digestion
Now, when it comes to pregnancy, I specifically enjoy this benefit because I don’t know about anyone else, but I am always HOT! I sweat alot, especially in the pelvis and thigh area due to my stomach bearing down, sitting in my lap throughout the day. Not to mention, the hormonal changes and just the extra effort to do physical task while carrying and creating a human. I feel like I always want to shower to avoid being musty. But chlorophyll has definitely showed up and showed out with eliminating body odor! I sniff my armpits with amazement that there is no sign of odor at all. And that goes for the rest of my body. 🙂

Chlorophyll can be naturally found in green leafy plant like kale, spinach, collard greens, and parsley. It is a great source of magnesium which contributes to ATP (adenosine triphosphate) production – the body’s main source of energy. This is hands down the most effective felt benefit of chlorophyll. Without a doubt, it helps to:
  • increase energy levels to fight fatigue
  • boost alertness
Seriously, you do NOT need coffee when you take chlorophyll! It has a very noticeable boost to energy levels, especially when taken at night. I wake up feeling well-rested and ready to take on the day! And with pregnancy fatigue, this is well worth adding to your regimen, especially in third trimester as you continue to feel more depleted.

What is the best liquid chlorophyll?

It’s imperative that you do your due diligence and make sure the brand or supplier is from a trusted and clean source. I personally have only tried Mary Ruth’s brand and absolutely love it.

It’s rich and has a hint of peppermint to cover the heavy “plant” taste that chlorophyll can have. My chiropractor suggested to add a splash of lime juice to my water when I take it and wow… it’s so refreshing! 10/10 recommend. I also add in my electrolytes and it makes drinking water more easy and fun!

How much chlorophyll should I take during pregnancy?

The daily recommended dosage is 100-200 mg. Remember, to follow the recommended dosage from the brand and consult with a healthcare professional if you have any concerns or pre-existing health conditions.
